Carrier & Driver Terms

Operating expectations for the carriers, drivers and owner-operators who move freight with WillTree Transport.

Who These Terms Apply To

These terms provide general information for carriers, drivers and owner-operators interested in work with WillTree Enterprises Inc. DBA WillTree Transport. Any engagement is governed by the written agreement, insurance requirements and load or route confirmation provided during onboarding. Where those documents and this page differ, the signed documents control.

Independent Contractor Relationship

Unless a written agreement states otherwise, contracted carriers and owner-operators operate as independent businesses. Nothing on this page creates employment, a partnership, a joint venture or an exclusive relationship, and nothing here promises a minimum volume of work, a specific route, specific hours or continued engagement.

Qualification and Onboarding

Before being assigned work, transportation professionals must complete our onboarding process. This typically includes a valid driver's license, authority and registration documents where applicable, proof of active insurance, background screening, a vehicle appropriate for the freight profile, a smartphone able to run the required delivery application and any additional qualification a specific customer program requires.

Qualification records must stay current. Expired insurance, licensing or registration will pause assignments until updated documentation is provided.

Insurance and Liability

Carriers and owner-operators are responsible for maintaining commercial auto liability, cargo and any other coverage required by law and by the customer program they serve, with limits confirmed in writing during onboarding. Certificates must name the required parties and be provided before dispatch and at each renewal. Loss, damage and claims are handled according to the signed agreement and applicable law.

Service and Freight Handling Expectations

Assignments are accepted on the terms shown in the confirmation, including pickup and delivery windows, appointment requirements, handling level and equipment needs. We expect on-time arrival, professional appearance and conduct at customer and residential locations, careful handling of freight, accurate piece counts, correct staging and completion of the service level requested — drop-off, curbside, threshold, white glove, inside delivery or appointment-based delivery.

Delays, refusals, access problems, damage and exceptions must be reported to dispatch as they happen, before leaving the location, so we can inform the customer and agree on next steps.

Documentation, Technology and Proof of Delivery

Required documentation must be completed accurately and submitted through the tools we provide. That includes shipment paperwork, exception notes, signatures, photos and other proof of delivery captured at the stop. Location and status updates provided through the delivery application are part of the service we owe our customers and are not optional.

Safety and Compliance

All work must be performed in compliance with applicable federal, state and local transportation, safety and hours-of-service regulations, along with customer facility rules and any handling requirements for medical, life sciences or specialty freight. Operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs, distracted driving and unsafe loading practices end the engagement immediately.

Confidentiality and Customer Relationships

Customer information, shipment details, contact lists, pricing and addresses learned through assignments are confidential and may only be used to perform the work. Contracted parties may not solicit our customers' freight directly or share customer information with other parties.

Compensation and Invoicing

Settlement rates, accessorial charges and payment timing are confirmed in the signed agreement and the individual load or route confirmation. Accurate documentation, completed proof of delivery and required paperwork must be submitted before an assignment is eligible for payment. Deductions for chargebacks, claims or unreturned equipment follow the signed agreement.

Performance Review and Termination

We review on-time performance, documentation quality, damage history, communication and customer feedback. Repeated service failures, safety issues, falsified documentation or lapsed qualification records can result in reduced assignments or termination. Either party may end the relationship according to the notice provisions in the signed agreement.

Updates to These Terms

Operating expectations change as customer programs, markets and regulations change. The version posted here is the version currently in effect, and material changes to a signed agreement are made in writing.
